Environment Preparation
- Install the Gimao Memo mobile app
- Activate the Password Vault service
- Ensure your computer and mobile phone are connected to the same local network
- For computer access, keep Gimao Memo open on your phone and switch to Service Mode
Step 1: Install the Browser Extension
Visit the official Bitwarden website, select your browser type, and follow the prompts to install the extension.
Step 2: Connect to the Password Vault
On your computer, open [Gimao Memo] → [Password Vault], then copy the network address from the address bar.
Example:
https://aiu.c.gimao.space:8086
Configure the Bitwarden browser extension: select the “Self-Hosted” option, then enter the server address, username, and password.
Default username and password:
me@gimao.space—remember to change them after your first login!
Step 3: Add Login Accounts
When registering for a new account on a study website, open the registration page. While entering account details, launch the Bitwarden extension, select “New” → “Login”, and fill in your username and password (choose to auto-generate a strong password for maximum security). After saving, return to the webpage—the extension will automatically detect the form and prompt you to fill in the preset account information. Click “Auto-Fill” to populate all fields instantly. Once registration is complete, auto-login will be enabled for future visits.
Step 4: Enable Auto-Login
When logging into a study website, open the login page. The Bitwarden extension will automatically recognize the website and prompt you to use the saved account credentials. Click the “Auto-Fill” button—the username and password will be populated in the login fields automatically. All you need to do is click “Login”.
Important Notes
- Auto-Lock Feature: The Vaultwarden extension will automatically lock after a period of inactivity for security.
- Master Password: Change your default password as soon as you log in for the first time. Ensure your master password is sufficiently complex and never share it with others.
- Privacy Protection: While the tool is convenient, only use it on your personal devices to avoid leaking sensitive data.
With these steps, you can easily use [Password Vault] (Vaultwarden) to manage your study account passwords. Whether registering new accounts or logging into existing ones, auto-fill functionality saves you time and effort—boosting your study efficiency while enhancing security.
